Ferries - Portsmouth
 A
twice-weekly service sails in each
direction between Portsmouth and Bilbao,
site of the Guggenheim Museum and
perfect entry point for the Basque
country and the Rioja wine area of
Northern Spain. Bilbao is an ideal
starting point for travelling on to
Spain, Southern France and Portugal as
it cuts out the long drive through
France. Thanks to our civilized
departure and arrival times, you're
certain to be in the holiday mood.
Excellent motorway connections from
Bilbao mean that you can be in Madrid in
around three hours, alternatively the
laid back villages of the North are a
perfect escape for those looking for a
real taste of Spain. Bilbao offers
arguably Europe's best surfing, and the
ski resorts of the Pyrenees are well
within reach.
 A
number of the ships offer Club class
travel. A small extra charge gives you
access to the exclusive Club Lounge
where you are served complimentary
champagne, teas, coffee, biscuits and
soft drinks. Free newspapers are also to
be found in the lounge. An additional
light menu of sandwiches and pastries is
available. On overnight crossings the
luxury of a Club cabin or suite
which includes a host of luxuries
including bathrobes, complimentary
breakfast and priority loading for your
vehicle is available. From Portsmouth to
Cherbourg / Le Havre you can book a
Club reclining chair in the Club
Lounge on overnight crossings, where you
can sample value for money luxury. On
the Portsmouth to Cherbourg route you
can also reserve Club Plus, which
gives you entrance to the Club Lounge
plus priority boarding for your
vehicle.

By car: Portsmouth enjoys excellent
road connections, with the M275 bringing
the national motorway network right to
the port itself, and with links from the
M3 and M25, it is easily reached from
London, the Midlands and the North. A
new £2.5 million multi-storey car park
provides 516 passenger parking spaces
just metres from the main ferry
terminal. Open 24 hours a day, the new
four-storey car park is well lit and
incorporates the latest automated car
parking technology and security.
By coach: There are direct
services from the port to London
Victoria Coach Terminal. Change at
London Victoria for all major towns and
cities.
By rail: There are frequent train
services between Portsmouth and London
Waterloo - the journey takes 85 minutes.
Services to London Victoria pass through
Chichester, Brighton and Gatwick.
Services to Cardiff pass through
Salisbury and Bristol. Portsmouth &
Southsea train station is a short bus or
taxi ride from the port. |

By car: The Bilbao ferry terminal
is located in a fishing village called
Santurtzi, accessible from both the west
(Santander) and the east (Madrid and
Barcelona) via the A8. Take the N644
turn off and follow this road to the
ferry port. There are no car parking
facilities in the village, however you
can leave their vehicles at the port at
no cost. Please note that this is the
customers' responsibility and must be
reported to the Port Authority upon
arrival to cover security issues.
By rail: There are direct rail
connections with major Spanish cities
and the entire Iberian Peninsula.
