American Safari Cruises                                                    Cruise Line Selections

Luxury in the Pursuit of Adventure
Welcome to American Safari Cruises where discriminating travelers embark on voyages that combine comfortable yet elegant yacht cruising with adventurous activities. Our sleek and nimble yachts allow us to access some of the most intricate and remote passages. Our yachts meld with nature, unlike typical charter yachts to which many people are accustomed. We’re free to wander into unnamed coves, unsung vistas and passages less traveled to explore and discover along with you. Our group size, ranging from 12 to 36 guests, also complements the experience because we are able to go ashore without fanfare or fuss. We enjoy the sincere welcome of local guides and residents who offer us the gift of their friendship along with their knowledge. Our itineraries are flexible, allowing us to maximize wildlife viewing or other opportunities that arise spontaneously. We anchor each night, ensuring that nothing is missed along the way. Onboard the yacht, a professional crew handles every detail, from the moment you step aboard until your departure. And year after year, our guests tell us of lasting friendships that began aboard our yachts.

Yacht Exploration: More Time in the Wilderness
If you could handcraft the details of a yacht cruise, would you include spectacular scenery, abundant and up-close wildlife experiences, time to relax, excellent customer service and opportunities to learn with engaging experts and local specialists? Would you add fine dining and tasteful accommodations? Might you also include kayaking, beachcombing, sailing, snorkeling and hiking? If so, then we invite you to join us for the voyage of a lifetime. The array of services and activities included in your cruise allows you to simply come aboard and leave the details to us. Your decisions will be between kayaking with your Naturalist or reclining with a good book (of course, you could do both), or between a crisp chardonnay and a smooth cabernet sauvignon. And at the end of your cruise, there will be no extra charges for any of it.

Far from Ordinary Comforts and Encounters

With American Safari Cruises, you’ll find yourself hiking to an amazing vista one minute and dallying in the hot tub with cocktail in hand the next. If you would rather grab a cup of coffee and sit on the bridge trading stories with the Captain, you are welcome to do so. We understand that this will be the trip of a lifetime for you, so we’re prepared to make every effort to get you as close as you want to be to the places you want to go.
Each exclusive yacht adventure offers you a complete spectrum of amenities and activities—all designed to make your voyage as carefree and varied as you’d like. Your crew sees to the smallest details, and each one is eager to take you on a great adventure. All you really have to do is pack your favorite clothes to relax in.

Our American Safari Cruises Adventures

Discoverers’ Glacier Country
8 Days/7 Nights — Roundtrip Juneau, Alaska

In Southeast Alaska, our yachts meander through the largest national forest in the United States - home to grizzly bears, black bears, mountain goats, bald eagles and wolves. On our way to view Alaska's massive glaciers, we enter some of the world's deepest fjords to hike and kayak while other vessels' guests stay shipside. With American Safari Cruises, you will spend two days in Glacier Bay National Park, not merely cruising past the astounding scenery, but stopping to go ashore or kayak with your Expedition Leader or Park Ranger. You’ll explore this unforgettable “natural laboratory” where receding glaciers reveal a landscape that hasn’t been uncovered from the ice in tens of thousands of years. To experience Glacier Bay is to experience nature in its primary stages, a rare opportunity indeed!

The Famed Inside Passage

15 Days/14 Nights — Seattle, Washington to Juneau, Alaska (or reverse)

Experience the full length of the West Coast of North America’s Inside Passage without the open ocean, but with shores ever-so-tight to the sides of your yacht for most of the 900 nautical miles between Seattle and Juneau. Embrace exhilarating closeness to snow-capped mountains, wildlife and birds far too numerous to keep count, waterfalls, tree-lined narrow passageways and surprises at just about every “gunkholing” turn.

Hawaiian Seascapes

8 Days/7 Nights — Maui to the Big Island (or reverse)

American Safari Cruises becomes the first company to offer unstructured inter-island yacht cruising in Hawaii, where the next “port” may not be a port at all. Instead, it may be a passage rich with wildlife, a secluded sandy beach or a quiet cove where you’ll explore the surroundings on the shore or in the water. Truly a privileged experience to visit one of the richest marine mammal environments in all of North America and to meet the people of Hawaii.

Hawaii’s Traditional Shores

11 Days/10 Nights — Maui to the Big Island (or reverse)

Experience traditional Hawaiian culture with expanded opportunities to meet the locals on their land and in their homes. Each evening the Safari Explorer sets anchor in a different harbor or inlet.

Mexico’s Sea of Cortés Aquarium of the World

8 Days/7 Nights — Roundtrip La Paz, Baja California, Sur

By luxury yacht, kayak, motorized skiff and on foot, encounter flora and fauna that are found nowhere else in the world. In this World Heritage biosphere reserve, experience pods of dolphins numbering in the thousands and view many whale species including the largest living being on earth - the blue whale.

Columbia and Snake Rivers of the West

8 Days/7 Nights — Portland, Oregon to Lewiston, Idaho (or reverse)

Step into the American West on a yacht cruise that encompasses human history, natural history and even time itself. Experience the rivers completely by jet boat, kayak, inflatable skiff and by transiting through eight mammoth dams. Taste wine from the barrel in Washington’s wine country and converse with local specialists as they relate tales of the epic Lewis and Clark Expedition.

Columbia and Snake Rivers Culinary & Wine Discovery

8 Days/7 Nights — Lewiston, Idaho to Portland, Oregon (or reverse)

Become modern-day explorers, discovering America’s “secret” and extraordinary wine regions in the spectacular setting of the Columbia River Gorge. Sample award-winning wine and cruise through history, witnessing the natural beauty and tastes of the Pacific Northwest. Celebrate a milestone wedding anniversary, birthday or just to enjoy your passion for highly-rated fine wines amidst one of the USA’s most scenic backgrounds.
