Westminster Abbey
Westminster Abbey has been the
traditional coronation site for English
monarchs since William the Conqueror.
The Abbey is also the burial place of
kings and queens, and many of the most
famous people in British history,
including Sir Laurence Olivier, Charles
Dickens, George Frideric Handel, Alfred
Lord Tennyson and Sir Isaac Newton.
Buckingham Palace and Changing of the
Guard*
Accompanied by a military band, a
detachment of the Queen's Foot Guard, in
their bearskins and red tunics, march to
Buckingham Palace and a change with the
Old Guard.
Lunch and River Thames Cruise
After a hearty lunch in a traditional
London Pub, our river cruise will take
us from Westminster to the Tower of
London. Many interesting bridges span
the Thames and some of London's most
important landmarks are located on or
near to the river. We'll get stunning
views of the Houses of Parliament,
London Eye, St. Paul's Cathedral,
Shakespeare's Globe theatre and the
famous Tower Bridge.
The Tower of London and Crown Jewels
Founded over 900 years ago and Guarded
by Yeoman Warders since the 14th
century, the Tower has been a Royal
Palace, an armoury, a place of
imprisonment and execution, and home to
the priceless "Crown Jewels", including
the enormous Cullinan diamonds and the

Windsor Castle
Built high above the River Thames,
Windsor Castle has been home to the
Royal Family for 900 years and is still
an Official Residence of the Queen. The
tour visits the magnificent State
Apartments*, still used for State
occasions and Royal receptions. Take
some time to explore the castle grounds
and the fourteenth-century St. George's
Chapel, one of the most beautiful
examples of medieval church architecture
in England and a burial place of kings
and queens, including Henry VIII and his
third wife Jane Seymour. On most days in
the summer, the Changing of the Guard
provides a colorful spectacle in the
quadrangle.
Hampton Court Gardens
Departing Windsor the tour makes its way
to the magnificent Hampton Court via
Runneymede, where King John met his
barons in 1215 and agreed to seal the
Magna Carta. The tour also sees the
memorial to John F Kennedy on an acre of
land given to America by the people of
Britain. Then Hampton Court - a living
tapestry of history through the ages.
The formal gardens of Hampton Court
reflect centuries of careful cultivation
resulting in a symphony of regal
splendor, symmetry and intricacy.

five women are brutally murdered by the
world's first recognized serial killer,
JACK THE RIPPER.
We tread in the footsteps of the
infamous Jack The Ripper down the dark,
narrow, gas-lit alleyways immortalized
in such films as "From Hell". We'll
follow the case of the unsolved
Whitechapel murders that would lead
Scotland Yard to Queen Victoria herself.
Led by one of the renowned London Blue
Badge Guides, we'll visit four murder
sights. Our 'Ripperologist' will run
through some of the suspects who sparked

An area of outstanding natural beauty,
the Ashdown Forest is best known as the
home of ‘Winnie the Pooh’. Our drive
will take us through the forest with a
stop at ‘Pooh Corner’; on our walk we
will discover the ‘Enchanted Place’ and
the ‘Lone Pine’. We'll have time to
explore this wonderful part of England
before heading further south.
BRIGHTON
Brighton is the most enchanting,
exciting, extraordinary seaside city in
Britain. With its cosmopolitan air,
abundance of restaurants and oodles of
culture, Brighton has for centuries been
regarded as a ‘pleasure dome’. We will
see Queen Victoria’s Brighton Pavilion
and walk around ‘The Lanes’, a warren of
tiny antique shops and cafés. Walk along
the famous pier – perhaps have time for
traditional fish and chips.
ARUNDEL CASTLE
A thousand years of history is waiting
to be discovered at Arundel Castle.
Built in the 11th century, Arundel is
the ancestral home of the Dukes of
Norfolk and is set high on a hill
commanding magnificent views across the
river Arun and out to sea. We can climb
the keep and explore the battlements and
the beautiful Victorian Gardens. |

We begin our day travelling across the

Leeds Castle
Heading out to Leeds Castle, we pass
through Greenwich, home of the famous 'Cutty
Sark' tea clipper and the Royal
Observatory, and cross over the
Greenwich Meridian.
Leeds Castle was described by Lord
Conway as 'the loveliest castle in the
world' and is set in the middle of a
natural lake, surrounded by 500 acres of
parkland and gardens. We will take you
in before the doors open to the public,
to experience its magic in an atmosphere
of still tranquility. There will also be
time to explore the castle grounds where
you will find the ' Lady Baillie Garden'
with views over the lake, an aviary and
maze.
Canterbury Cathedral
Traveling through Kent, the county known
as the ' Garden of England', we make our
way to Canterbury to visit the
Cathedral. This magnificent Cathedral is
the most important church within the
worldwide Anglican faith. The central
'Bell Harry Tower' dates back to 1498,
and the crypt to the 11th Century. It is
here where your guide will tell the
story of the shocking murder of
Archbishop Thomas Beckett in 1170 and
there will also be time to explore the
narrow streets of Canterbury.
Dover
We continue our tour through the
picturesque landscape of Kent dotted
with unusual buildings and quaint little
villages to Dover, where you'll see the
famous White Cliffs standing 400 feet
above sea level. Brooding above the
White Cliffs is the sprawling Dover
Castle still watching over the town 800
years on.
Traditional Afternoon Tea
En-route back to London, we will stop at
a village pub for afternoon tea. The
original pub building dates back to 1645
and more recently, it has been featured
in the film "Battle of Britain." In the
bar is an area dedicated to the Battle
of Britain pilots, with memorabilia and
photos adorning the walls. |

HEVER CASTLE
Hever Castle dates back to 1270 and was
the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, Henry
VIII's second wife and mother of
Elizabeth I. In 1903 the castle was
bought by William Waldorf Astor, who
lovingly restored the castle and
gardens. The house is filled with a
magnificent collection of furniture,
tapestries and works of art. The unique
Italian Garden is a four acre walled
garden containing a superb collection of
sculptures. Not to be missed are the
Rose Garden, Tudor Garden and the Water
Maze.
ROYAL TUNBRIDGE WELLS
Royal Tunbridge Wells has been
attracting visitors for 400 years. Its
reputation as the place to see and be
seen amongst royalty and the aristocracy
over the years makes the history of
Tunbridge Wells one of the most
colourful in England. King Edward VII
officially recognised the popularity of
the town in 1909 by granting it a
‘Royal' prefix. The town became known as
Royal Tunbridge Wells, one of only two
towns in England to be granted this
title.
PENSHURST PLACE
One of Kent's loveliest historic houses
lies in the rural weald of Kent
surrounded by ancient parkland. It has
been described as the grandest and most
perfectly preserved example of a
fortified manor house in all England and
has been home to kings and noblemen for
over 650 years. The enchanting formal
gardens are a rare example of
Elizabethan design - here you will be
able to enjoy the peace and tranquility

The tour takes you back through Warwick

Stonehenge
Clouded in mystery, the ancient stone
circle of Stonehenge is an amazing feat
of engineering and the most important
prehistoric site in England, but beyond
its archaeological significance and
possible astronomical role, Stonehenge
is also a place of spiritual importance.
Early legends link it with Merlin and
King Arthur, but over the last hundred
years the midsummer sunrise has
attracted Pagan groups and followers of
the Ancient Order of Druids.
Bath
The tour also visits the beautiful
Georgian City of Bath and takes you on a
panoramic tour of some of the finest
architectural sights in Europe,

Winchester
We start the day across the chalk downs
of Hampshire to Winchester, a delightful
city that basks in an atmosphere of
Beauty, antiquity and tranquility!
Winchester was once a major
fortification against the Vikings and
King Alfred the Great who was buried at
Winchester in 899 is commemorated in a
magnificent statue in the city centre
that has become a landmark in itself.
You’ll also see the mighty 11th Century
Winchester Cathedral.
Mysterious Stonehenge
5,000 years ago the huge 40 ton stones
were dragged from over 280 miles away in
Wales. Who built it and why remains a
