8 days/7 nights

Day 1 Heading towards the north of England, the first visit is to the magnificent Warwick Castle, Britain’s finest complete medieval castle with fun for all the family. Continue towards the heritage city of Chester area for overnight at nearby 4* Peckforton Castle (or similar).

Day 2 Journey westwards to the Celtic fringe of Britain and enter Wales, a land of Castles, mountains and legends. The days first visit to Conway Castle and the medieval walled town of Conway overlooking the sea. Take a scenic route into the Snowdonia National Park to see the pretty village of Betws y Coed before returning to walk through the spectacular Bodnant Gardens. Return for overnight at 4* Peckforton Castle (or similar).


Day 3
Drive across the Pennine Hills to see the treasures of Harewood House and Bird Gardens before continuing on to the walled city of York to view the Minster (Cathedral) and the historic Shambles and perhaps the National Railway Museum. Return for overnight at 4* Peckforton Castle (or similar).

Day 4 Today’s journey takes you north through the Lake District National Park and into Scotland. En route detour to visit the poet Wordsworth's house at Rydal Mount and drive along the lake side through outstanding mountain scenery to Dalemain House and Gardens. Continue into Scotland towards Glasgow for overnight at 4* Sherbrooke Castle (or similar).

Day 5 Spend the day in Scotland’s beautiful capital city, Edinburgh. Visit The Georgian House. Also spend some time at Malleny Gardens, a peaceful haven from the bustle of the capital. Then on to Gladstone's Land. Return for overnight at 4* Sherbrooke Castle (or similar).

Day 6
Today visit Alloa Tower – dating from the 14th century, Alloa Tower is the largest surving keep and then drive onto Bannockburn, the visitor centre gives a clear insight into the momentous battle between the Scots and English (Braveheart legend). Drive towards the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park into the land of Rob Roy legends to enjoy fine views of Loch Lomond. Return via the Trossachs National Park for overnight at 4* Sherbrooke Castle (or similar).

Day 7 Head up north into the Scottish Highlands to visit the treasure house of Scone Palace and coronation site of Scots Kings. Continue into the Highland mountains to visit Scotland’s most popular castle – Blair Castle at the gateway to the Grampian mountains to see 700+ years of history, art and gardens. Return for overnight at 4* Sherbrooke Castle (or similar).

Day 8 Return home or add another tour or an extra night.
